Matt's EJ207 Bugeye Wagon

This was the largest client project we have taken on from a mechanical aspect. Matt is a longtime customer of ours and approached us with the idea of swapping his beloved bugeye wagon. These cars are becoming so rare and we were all in for this project.

We got right into things. Game plan was doctored up as Matt wanted to change some other things on the car while we were doing the swap. Donor car was a previously swapped 2005 Impreza. We got to removing his old drivetrain and installing the new setup.

The entire front engine, subframe and transmission were swapped out. Everything bolted in like a glove and looked right at home. It was refreshing to see a turbo motor sitting in the engine bay.

We removed the rear end and converted it to the sedan setup. Drum to disc brakes is a major upgrade and Matt will appreciate it moving forward. We installed a new clean gas tank and repaired some rotted fuel lines.

The entire interior needed to be removed so the chassis wiring harness could be swapped in. Some custom merging was needed in order to retain factory functionality as the sedan and wagon have different features. We upgraded his center console to the 05+ and he will be installing a new radio himself to finish off the look.

We finished off the car with an upgraded aluminum radiator from CSF, silicon radiator hoses from Overtake and some regular maintenance items! The ECU was already tuned from the donor car, so no adjustments were needed. It is one quick machine on the street!
